The Ole Miss Rebels are back in the game, and they are here to stay. Lane Kiffin's squad overpowered the nation's best scoring defense, this time with both of their QBs.

The Oklahoma Sooners' defense had no answer for the QB skills Trinidad Chambliss was packing as the Rebels took home the 34-26 road win.

What's more important is this win putting the Rebels back on the map. Following their 43-35 loss to Georgia last week on the road, this was Kiffin's redemption game.

Ole Miss was largely considered the underdog against OU after Georgia handed them their first loss of the season. Kiffin defied the odds to get Ole Miss their reputation back.

And the best part of it all is that this win cements the Rebels as a college football playoff contender from the SEC. Oklahoma was one of the three ranked opponents on Ole Miss's slate this season, and this win logged the Rebels' second win against a ranked opponent out of three.

OU had an at par college football playoff case as Ole Miss walking into this game as a 6-1 SEC team. Losing it drops them out of the picture, making the Rebels' chances even stronger.

The list could go on about why the win is major celebratory news for Ole Miss, but perhaps the reason that stands out the most is that it puts them in the national title contender talks fair and square.

If Kiffin makes it to the national championship, it will be by far the wildest comeback story in college football's recent history.
