Lane Kiffin undeniably got the No. 1 transfer portal class at LSU. But what he couldn't get, even after multiple attempts, was his Ole Miss players with him there.
At least not as many as he would like.
An embarassing number for Lane Kiffin
Even though he landed the best players in the portal this cycle, Kiffin only got 4 players from Ole Miss to sign up for the purple gear, the second lowest among the P4 coaches who brought their former players with them.
The only head coach with lower former players to his new school is Jon Sumrall, who could convince just two from his ex-roster at Tulane to accompany him to Florida.
Matt Campbell boasts the highest number, as he took 27 players to Penn State with him.

Which P4 head coaches brought the most former players with them?

The number might be embarrassing, but it is not surprising at all, given the way Kiffin burned every bridge down on his way out from Oxford. The despise made other star players, who also transferred this cycle, pick other programs over their previous head coach waiting for them with open arms.
Their choices says it all.
That said, Kiffin's faces from the Sip include some of his biggest portal wins.
Edge Princewill Umanmielen agreeing to come to LSU was perhaps the highlight of Kiffin's first portal class at Baton Rouge. So is TJ Dottery, who was the cornerstone in Golding's defense at Ole Miss.
OT Devin Harper and WR Winston Watkins are pieces that add the type of depth that could pull the Tigers through their toughest games.
Yet, Golding's job at retaining most of the Rebels players is showing through. Were it not for the mass exodus and losing more star players like Cayden Lee, Golding would easily have the best roster in the nation.
They still could, if QB Trinidad Chambliss wins the injunction.
