The last time we saw Tre Harris on the field for Ole Miss was in the overtime loss to LSU on October 13. Plenty has happened since then, with three wins on the bounce, one of which was the victory over Georgia.
The team has done well without its star receiver, but getting him back would significantly boost the offense. In today's press conference, Lane Kiffin gave us an update on Harris's availability against Florida.
Lane Kiffin expects Tre Harris to play against Florida
Speaking in the Monday press conference for the Florida game, Lane Kiffin confirmed that he expects Tre Harris to feature against the Gators on Saturday.
Harris, who still leads the SEC in receiving yards despite missing the last three games, gives the team an extra dynamic heading into another must-win game for the Rebels. However, the Ole Miss offense can't move away from what it has been doing in its last three wins.
Dart has utilized several receivers, with offensive coordinator Charlie Wesi Jr. scheming some great drives. Harris can undoubtedly improve this offense, but hyperfocusing on getting him the ball on every play should not be part of the game plan.
Jordan Watkins, a receiver who has really stepped up for the team recently, spoke to the Rebel Walk and was happy to have Harris back for the game in Gainesville on Saturday.
Ole Miss will examine the Week 12 game, in which LSU went into the Swamp and was downed by the Gators. Lane Kiffin will use that as a lesson to his team, showing what can happen if you don't play to the expected standards.
