Trinidad Chambliss is officially in the 2026 NFL Draft talks as the NFL Scouts are all but ignoring the legal noise surrounding Chambliss.

No matter what the verdict of Chambliss' lawsuit turns out to be, the NFL scouts are going with the best-case scenario for them, and plrojecting Chambliss as a 2026 NFL draft prospect.

The Ole Miss QB is a concencus first-round pick, with multiple mock drafts featuring him as a mid-to later Round One pick.

Trinidad Chambliss projected as No. 21 overall

Saturday Blitz's Nicholas Rome projects Chambliss to go as a No. 21 overall to the Pittsburg Steelers for a Mike Tomlin-unique reason.

"The Steelers found their next head coach after Mike Tomlin's retirement as they hired long time Packers and Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy. Given McCarthy's track record as an offensive mind, he'll likely look to find a quarterback that he can develop. Trinidad Chambliss showed a ton to be excited about this season, and he'd benefit a ton by landing with a head coach like McCarthy," Rome writes.

This makes Chambliss the 3rd QB off the 2026 NFL board, following Indiana's Fernando Mendoza at No. 1 overall, and Alabama's Ty Simpson at No. 11 overall.

Going as a QB3 would mean a big deal for Chambliss. According to Rome's prediction at No. 21, Chambliss could be looking at a rooie contract just shy of $20 million with the Steelers, or whichever team decides to draft him.

And that is considering Chambliss is a late Round One prospect. If teams like Dolphins decides on Chambliss instead of Simpson, the contract amount could go as high as $23 million.

Then there is also a small chance, and reported buzz, about the Jets going for Chambliss at No. 2. That would translate to the QB signing a monstrous paycheck of $50 million+, with a $35-$36 million signing bonus, per Sportac.

All of this would be worth a discussion only if the Mississippi court rules against Chambliss.

With the court date set for Chambliss's injunction hearing, both college football and the NFL would be desperately awaiting a response to the situation.
