Ole Miss looked to have swiped four-star linebacker Tyler Lockhart from under the noses of rivals Mississippi State when he flipped his commitment live from his high school yesterday afternoon. However, drama unfolded later in the evening.

Brad Logan and Jared Redding of 247Sports confirmed hours later that Lockhart had reverted to his original decision of committing to the Bulldogs.

Tyler Lockhart follows brother to Mississippi State

The plan always looked to be that Tyler Lockhart would join his brother, TJ, at Mississippi State. However, Ole Miss pushed hard late on to flip his commitment, and they looked to have sealed the flip, with Tyler announcing he would be committing to the Rebels at around 1:43 p.m. CST.

As Lockhart posed with the shark sign, made famous by Ole Miss, his family watched on, shocked. However, happiness would return later, as the drama was not yet finished.

Murmurings started to appear on social media that Lockhart may be flipping back to his original decision when Mississippi State head coach Jeff Lebby posted a cryptic social media gif of the legendary wrestler, the Undertaker, rising from a coffin..

The post was regarding Tyler Lockhart, who flipped back to Mississippi State at around 10:00 p.m. CST. It was a blow for Ole Miss, as Lockhart is a high-ranked four-star player and would have been an excellent commit for Pete Golding's defense.

Lockhart took to social media to apologize, with most of the Rebels fanbase understanding his decision. Family comes first, and it's likely he talked with them and decided MSU was the best place for him at this moment.

When you thought National Signing Day couldn't get any more dramatic, it churns up a story like this.
