Ole Miss booked their spot in the second round of the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2013. Today, they will be looking to match the furthest they've been, a Sweet Sixteen spot that happened back in 2001.
The Rebels dominated the North Carolina Tar Heels for the first 25 minutes of the game. However, they nearly let a 22-point lead slip, leading by just two with several minutes remaining. Chris Beard's team did gain their composure to win by seven.
Their opponent in the second round is the No.3 seed Iowa State. The Cyclones blew past No.14 seed Lipscomb in the opening round 82-55. Milan Momcilovic finished with 20 points, while Curtis Jones had 17.
Iowa State did suffer two losses to BYU in the regular season, a team that Ole Miss beat. However, some would point to that and say the Cougars were not the same team early in the season. That being said, the Cyclones are the favorites in this matchup.
