Ole Miss is adding players from the spring transfer portal left, right, and center. The latest big play is a running back in Troy transfer, Damien Taylor. It's an essential get for Lane Kiffin, who has questions at running back heading into fall camp.

Taylor is coming off his best season with the Trojans, totaling 1,010 yards and 8 TDs last season, receiving All-Sun Belt honors. It was a breakout season for Junior, who has a significant transfer where he has the chance to showcase his abilities on the biggest stage.

He pulled off some big runs during his time at Troy, ranked No.18 nationally for runs over 20+ yards with 11, while also having three runs of 40+ yards. He may not have the breakaway pace, but the 5-foot-11 and 220-pound back is tough to bring down.

Taylor adds some much-needed depth to the running back room, which has its questions. Despite some exciting players, it is still uncertain what the Rebels have. The potential No.1 back is Logan Diggs, but he is coming off a nearly entire season on the sideline with an injury, appearing late in the Bowl win over Duke.

We know Diggs has been good for LSU previously before he transferred ahead of the 2024 season, but will the injury hinder his performance? Behind him, it's an inexperienced bunch with talent. Missouri transfer Kewan Lacy was a four-star recruit from the 2024 class but did not see much action on the field. They also have Domonique Thomas, who saw bits of work behind others last season and was steady as a rotation piece.

The exciting prospect is 2025 four-star recruit Shekai Mills-Knight, who was ranked the No.6 back in the class. Kiffin and the staff are very excited about his ability. He could start as a true freshman, but bringing in Taylor means there is no pressure.
