The Ole Miss basketball teams are preparing for next season after having excellent 2024-25 seasons. Due to burning their eligibility, Chris Beard and Yolett McPhee-McCuin will see some top players depart. That means a busy few weeks in the portal, with Ole Miss women already adding three players.

Plenty has happened over the last several days; here is all the latest news regarding Ole Miss basketball.

LSU transfer Corey Chest transfers to Ole Miss

Chris Beard grabbed his first transfer portal pickup with LSU forward Corey Chest heading to Oxford. Chest visited Ole Miss last week, and the 6-foot-8 freshman was a top defensive threat in several games last season, including 12 boards against the Rebels. Chestt also had 18 boards against Alabama, which adds to an area that the Rebels middled at last season.

Malik Dia confirmed he is staying for one more season

Malik Dia has announced his decision regarding his future. The Belmont transfer has decided to stay in Oxford for one more season. Dia claimed there is unfinished business with Ole Miss and looks forward to going further than they did last season. Dia started all 36 games this season and averaged 10.8 PTS and 5.7 REB.

Ole Miss lose out on three portal players

The Rebels have missed out on three transfer portal players this past weekend. Duncan Powell, Ja'Borri McGhe, and Jacari White chose other programs over the Rebels. There is still plenty of time for Beard to achieve more commits.

Ole Miss women finish in the top 20

With UConn winning the NCAA Tournament yesterday, the final AP Poll was announced, with Ole Miss landing at the No.17 spot. It was a great effort from the team, but the fact they made the Sweet Sixteen but were ranked 17 is a surprise.

Coach Yo appears at NCAA Tournament final

The Ole Miss head coach, Yolett McPhee-McCuin, made a guest appearance in Tampa for the NCAA Tournament final between South Carolina and UConn. Coach Yo appeared on the broadcast and had a moment with Gamecocks head coach Dawn Staley.
