We are just under a third of the way through May, and it's been a productive one for Ole Miss and the 2026 recruiting class. Today, the Rebels grabbed their third commitment of the month, a big one. Four-star wide receiver Corey Barber committed to Lane Kiffin's team despite interest from top programs.

Alabama, Georgia, Miami, and others were chasing Barber, but after an April visit, he felt there was only one place he wanted to be. The Alabama native spoke to On3 regarding his feelings about Ole Miss before and after the visit.

"I started thinking about this commitment before my official visit, but when I left that, it really opened my eyes and I knew it was home from the moment I left. I like the vibes in Oxford. It’s a real chill environment, everybody treats you like family and it’s a great community."
Corey Barber

Barber is ranked the No. 43 wide receiver and the No. 13 player in Alabama according to the On3 Industry Rankings. He is the third wide receiver that Ole Miss has added in the 2026 class, having already received verbal commitments from Jameson Powell and Zion Legree.

"Wide receiver production, the offensive scheme, player development and how genuine the people around the program are other things I like about Ole Miss."
Corey Barber.

Ole Miss has quietly become known as a top program that sends wide receivers to the NFL. Tre Harris and Jordan Watkins were drafted in the 2025 NFL Draft, joining former Rebels like DK Metcalf and A.J. Brown at the next level. Brown and Metcalf are two of the five highest-paid receivers in the NFL, and the former recently won his first Super Bowl ring.
