The first College Football Rankings were released earlier, and nothing stood out as disrespectful, but fans have several weeks to be upset with how the committee ranks their team.

Ole Miss was ranked No. 16, just like it was in the AP Poll on Sunday. Their opponents on Saturday were the No. 3 ranked Georgia Bulldogs, meaning an Ole Miss win would guarantee them a top-12 team in week 2 of the CFP rankings.

It's as simple as win and in for Ole Miss regarding the CFP rankings

Ole Miss is one of the first four teams out of the 12-team college football playoff picture, but it proves one thing for the Rebels. They win their last three games, including Saturday against the No.3 ranked team, and Ole Miss is in.

The Rebels have two losses, one against the No. 15 LSU Tigers and unranked Kentucky. The losses were by a combined six points and were two plays away from being unbeaten. Something I'm sure the playoff committee considered is being ahead of Teams with one loss and the other two-loss teams.

The Rebels were aware that after the loss to LSU in Week 7, they needed to win their final five games. They have won two of those games, with three left to play. The ESPN crew on the CFP Rankings Show used the Allstate Playoff predictor to calculate their playoff chances if they won out. If they won out, they would move from a 29% chance as of now to 74%.
