Ole Miss could offer Nebraska player who is set to enter the transfer portal

Ole Miss is set to lose several players after the 2024 season, including several at the wide receiver position. As players start to enter their names into the transfer portal, one player who looks set to enter may be a Lane Kiffin target.

Nebraska head coach Matt Rhule announced that former four-star wide receiver Malachi Coleman plans to enter the transfer portal.

Ole Miss was one of his top schools during recruitment

Malachi Coleman has not confirmed that he will be entering the transfer portal, but if the head coach has mentioned it, it will likely happen when the regular season concludes.

Ole Miss was among Coleman's top seven schools, but he narrowed them down to Nebraska, Georgia, and Oklahoma before committing to his home state, the Cornhuskers, over Colorado. Per On3s Industry Rankings, he was rated a top-10 wide receiver in the 2022 class.

Lane Kiffin will have some talent on the roster at wide receiver next season, with Cayden Lee returning and five-star 2025 recruit Caleb Cunningham. However, they are set to lose three of their starters.

Tre Harris, Jordan Watkins, and Antwane Wells will depart, leaving open spots, with one or two taken up by players from the transfer portal. Coleman fits the mold of a big-bodied perimotor wide receiver like Ole Miss.

Coleman announced he would be redshirting earlier in the season, with Matt Rhule now saying he will enter the transfer portal. In the 2023 season, he had eight receptions for 139 receiving yards and one touchdown,
