Ole Miss football has fully adopted the "drip in the sip" motto under head coach Lane Kiffin. They have introduced new uniforms and combinations to Ole Miss, many of which have been received with glowing reviews from around the country and within the fan base. A few seasons ago, the Rebels started playing one game a season in a Realtree camo helmet. A couple of days ago, the program's Twitter account teased an announcement.

Many in the fan base started to speculate that it would be this year's Realtree helmet, and fans began to take guesses on what it would look like, with some suggesting it could be a red helmet. The rebels kept us waiting virtually all day, and for many of us, it had us refreshing the page every 30 minutes.

Then it dropped, a video of the two leaders of this team, QB Austin Simmons and Edge rusher Suntarine Perkins. In the video, Perkins takes a sledgehammer to the concrete box, and then, amongst the rubble, is this year's helmet. It is a winter white camo edition, with the Ole Miss red script on the side, a navy blue strip down the center of the helmet, flanked by two red stripes.

This helmet may be the cleanest of the three editions that we have seen. This one is better than the Navy camo helmet that was used against Oklahoma last year, but I am not sure that it beats the original Realtree helmet.

It was announced that the helmets will be used for the matchup on November 1st inside Vaught-Hemingway Stadium against the South Carolina Gamecocks. That is one of the three marquee games inside the Vaught this year, and depending on how the season plays out for the Rebels, it could be one with major playoff implications.

It is unclear what the full uniform combo will be. I would venture to guess that it will be either of the two displayed in the launch video. Simmons wore the helmet with a navy jersey and white pants, while Perkins was wearing the red jersey with gray pants. Both of the combinations look good, and I am excited to see the helmets in action.
