Ole Miss football looks to be on its way to flipping an in-state 2026 recruit from an SEC rival if the rumors are to be believed.

Four-star defensive lineman JaReylan McCoy decommitted from LSU earlier today, and the expectation is that he will soon commit to Lane Kiffin and the Rebels.

McCoy, who has been committed to the Tigers for just over a month, has been on two recent visits to Oxford. The latest was over the weekend at the first junior day Ole Miss hosted in 2025.

The 6-foot-6, 245-pound prospect is ranked the No.8 defensive lineman and No.5 ranked 2026 high school prospect per On3's Industry Rankings. He is also a top 100-ranked player, coming in at No.88 nationally.

Ole Miss wants to land another in-state prospect out of Tupelo High School. Lane Kiffin has success with the mentioned high school, with Maison Dunn in the 2025 class and Shamaar Darden in the 2024 class.

The Rebels continue to excel at recruiting in their home state. The 2026 class is full of talent, and grabbing a commitment from JaReylan McCoy would be a massive start to Kiffin and his staff's 2026 work.

Which other 2026 Mississippi recruits could be heading to Oxford?

The big fish in Mississippi is wide receiver Tristen Keys, a five-star prospect, just like 2025 receiver Caleb Cunningham, whom the Rebels managed to snag. Keys's addition could help, but Alabama and Tennessee are also in the mix at this early stage.

Ole Miss and Ohio State are interested in four-star safety Bralan Womack. Nolan Wilson, a four-star edge, seems to be between the Rebels and Alabama. Both are ranked two and three in Mississippi's class of 2026, respectively.

Cornerback Preston Ashley, wide receiver Xavier McDonald, and linebacker TJ White are all high on Lane Kiffin's list, as well as others.

The State of Mississippi's 2026 class is stacked, and if Ole Miss can grab a high percentage, it will be huge in future years.
