Ole Miss men's basketball adjust the tip time for the December 21 game against Queens
Ole Miss men's basketball will face Queens on December 21 but will now tip-off earlier. The game was scheduled for a later start at 6:00 p.m.CST but has now been moved to 4:00 p.m. CST.
The change in tip-off is to combine the women's game with the Men's, hoping to attract a bigger attendance for both games. The Ole Miss women face Mississippi Valley State at noon, followed by the Ole Miss men against Queens.
Both Ole Miss basketball teams ranked in the AP Poll
Both the men's and women's basketball teams continued to be ranked in the AP Poll's top 25. However, both teams are heading in different directions.
The men's team jumped four places to No. 19 with wins over Lousiville and Lindenwood. The women's team dropped four places to No.22, losing to NC State and beating Tennessee State.
The men have been playing excellent basketball. Their only loss on the season was to No. 11-ranked Purdue, which they were a half-court shot away from beating the Boilermakers. Significant wins over BYU and Louisville have them ranked in the top 20.
The Lady Rebels also looked good in the early part of the season, losing a close one to USC and competing well with UConn, both top-five ranked teams. However, the loss to NC State wasn't their best performance, seeing them slip a few places down the rankings.
Both teams have plenty of opportunities during the season to make the NCAA Tournament, and both can easily book their places at the dance.
