Ole Miss men's basketball knew they were in, but it's always good to have to confirm that they are indeed going dancing. The Rebels have not made it to the big dance since 2019 and are looking to make a name for themselves, not just participate.
The Rebels were having a selection Sunday party down at Funky's, and they saw that they still did not know their first-round opponent. That's because they will face the winner of San Diego State or North Carolina, who will face off in a play-in match.

The Tar Heels were a surprise to make the play-in, having a below-par season this year. However, they are in and have a chance to take advantage, but they come up against an Aztecs team that blows hot and cold.
Ole Miss is the No. 6 seed in the Milwaukee Regional, and if they manage to get past the first round, they face the winner of Iowa State and Lipscomb. Marquette, New Mexico, Michigan State, and Bryant are in the bottom half of the South alongside Ole Miss.
It's a massive achievement for head coach Chris Beard and the team. Making the NCAA Tournament was the goal, but doing so as a No.6 seed shows their jump from year one.
A record 14 SEC teams made the 64-team tournament, which was not just a conference record. It was an NCAA Tournament record.
