The past few days have continued to be good on the diamond for the Ole Miss basketball and softball teams. However, Mike Bianco's team came up short in the SEC Tournament, but they still have much more to look forward to this season. Recruiting for football and basketball has been quiet, with a few bits of news; while not many opposing coaches believe in Lane Kiffin's team in 2025, it has been revealed.

Ole Miss baseball to host regional, but fall short in SEC Tournament

Ole Miss' SEC Tournament run fell at the final hurdle, losing 3-2 to Vanderbilt in the championship game in Hoover. In a close game where the pitchers were on fire, Ole Miss was on course to turn the game around at the top of the ninth but fell short. The team has made the fans proud and rewarded with a top 16 rank, meaning Oxford will host a regional tournament in the NCAA Tournament. The three teams joining them will be revealed on May 26 at 1:00 pm CT.

Ole Miss softball make program history at the NCAA Tournament

The baseball team can take a lot from the softball side's run, as they made the College Softball World Series for the first time in program history. The Rebels took the rubber game 7-4 over No.4 seed Arkansas to book their place in Oklahoma. Coach Jamie Trachsel has done a remarkable job, with nobody giving the team a shot at the start of the season. They are the only unranked team to make it to the final eight, where they will face No.12 Texas Tech.

No belief in Ole Miss football from opposing SEC coaches

Athlon Sports has dropped their annual what opposing coaches said about each team's articles, and there are not a lot of not-so-positive words about Ole Miss and Lane Kiffin for the 2025 season. The three opinions were that the Rebels are always doing very well in the transfer portal. Still, the roster does not look capable of achieving the playoffs this season compared to several other SEC teams. Kiffin also caught a few strays, with one coach saying he "is not an elite head coach."

Four-star offensive tackle Kamari Blair sets OV for the summer

Tennessee's No.8 ranked player has set an official visit to Oxford in the summer. Offensive tackle Kamari Blair will visit the Rebels on June 13 as Lane Kiffin and his staff focus on several top offensive linemen. Tennessee, Florida State, South Carolina, and Wisconsin are all set to have OVs in the summer from Blair.
