It's been an excellent spring in many aspects for the Ole Miss program, and the rewards for that are coming in. The baseball and softball teams received honors for their players and achieved all-time best rankings. Two Rebel golfers will compete with some of the best at this week's U.S. Open.
Hunter Elliott makes the All-American Third Team
Ole Miss had a solid baseball season, falling just short of hosting a super regional game. However, pitcher Hunter Elliott has been awarded third-team honors for the 2025 NCBWA Division I All-America Team. Elliott earned the award, putting up figures better than any other Rebel in the modern era. He finished with a 10-3 record with an ERA of 2.94 and 102 strikeouts. He held opponents to a .197 batting average and picked off 13 baserunners.

Two Rebel Golfers set to compete in the 125th U.S. Open
Eyes will be on Ole Miss golfers Michael La Sasso and Cameron Tankersley this Thursday as they compete in the 125th U.S. Open. It will be the first golfing major I have competed in, and what a stage to do it on. There will be 15 amateurs in the tournament, with La Sasso earning his spot by claiming the NCAA Division I individual title. Tankersley earned a place at Bent Tree Country Club in Dallas by winning a qualifier.
Softball beats program record with a new highest National Ranking
Ole Miss softball had a program-record-setting season on the diamond, making the World Series. They fell short against Texas Tech and Oregon but had road wins at Arizona (in the regional) and Arkansas (in the super regional). They were rewarded with an end-of-season No. 7 rank, beating the previous highest No. 8 in 2019 after week 12.

Ole Miss lose out in the 2026 quarterback Landon Duckworth stakes
Ole Miss was looking to secure a commitment from four-star 2026 quarterback Landon Duckworth. However, the No. 6-ranked QB has confirmed his final two teams are South Carolina and Auburn. It's a blow for Lane Kiffin, who has to reset in the 2020 quarterback market.
