The Ole Miss baseball and softball teams had excellent weekends on the diamond, with big wins for different reasons. The baseball team closed its regular season with a series win over No.6 ranked Auburn, while the softball team had two big wins in the NCAA Tournament.

Both football and basketball have some big recruits in town over the weekend, with the former hosting one of the top uncommitted 2025 prospects.

Ole Miss softball secure two wins from two in the NCAA Tournament

Ole Miss softball followed up its 7-4 win over Grand Canyon on Friday, setting up a game against No.13 Arizona in Tucson. The Rebels outlasted the Wildcats to win 10-8, thanks hugely to Persy Llamas, with her multi-home run game. After the impressive win, Ole Miss has two opportunities to punch their ticket to the Super Regionals on Sunday against Arizona.

First round SEC Tournament bye for Ole Miss after Auburn series win

Ole Miss baseball won the final series of the regular season, beating No.6 ranked Auburn 2-1. The Rebels went into the series' final game looking for the sweep, but could not get the job done. It earned them a No.7 seed for the SEC Tournament and a first-round bye. The Rebels will face either Florida or South Carolina on May 20. It sets them up for a potential hosting spot in the NCAA Tournament with 1-2 wins.

Ole Miss basketball host top uncommitted 2025 recruit

Over the weekend, Chris Beard and his staff had four-star 2025 recruit Niko Bundalo in Oxford. The No. 7 ranked power forward by 24Sports recently received his release from his letter of intent by Washington, with Ole Miss looking to strike early. Others are in contention, but the Rebels would love to land Bundalo.

No.1 tight end in the country in Oxford over the weekend

Like basketball, the football team had a top recruit on a visit, the No.1 tight end in the 2026 class. Mark Bowman was in Oxford, his first official visit of his recruiting cycle. The Rebels were the first team to offer Bowman during his freshman season at Mater Dei High School. Georgia, Miami, Oregon, Texas, and USC are all teams in the mix and will receive official visits over the spring/summer..
