Memphis transfer PJ Haggerty looks to have decided on his next destination. On3 has dropped a prediction for him to land with NC State, a huge pickup for new head coach Will Wade.

It had been reported that Ole Miss and the Wolfpack were the leading two teams for Haggerty. However, before the prediction, Jeff Goodman reported the Rebels were out of the sweepstakes for the talented junior. He even said that sources had said that Ole Miss was never in the running for Haggerty, having never communicated with him during the process.

It would not be a surprise if the rumors were true, with the Texas native looking for $4 million in NIL money, according to reports. Going on what we know, Ole Miss has shown they do not overpay when it comes to players in any sport.

Haggerty also received an NBA Draft Combine invitation, so he still may not head back to college, but it is likely he will if he wants to become a first-round pick.

Ole Miss head coach Chris Beard has the fans' faith, but as top players find new homes via the portal, time is running out to round out the roster. The team is still 2-3 players short, with 1-2 needing to be consistent scorers. They have some potential big-time transfers, but they come with concerns.

Beard still has 3-4 solid targets he is competing for, including Louisville transfer James Scott. If the Rebels miss their targets, they may need their 2025 freshman to step up.

The Rebels are coming off an excellent year 2 under Beard, reaching the NCAA Tournament Sweet Sixteen stage. The expectation is to go again in 2025-26, but the roster does not look as strong as last year. However, it does have potential.
