Only five Ole Miss players got an invite to the NFL Combine this year, and Ole Miss WR De'Zhaun Stribling is perhaps the one that the NFL scouts are waiting for the most.
The Rebels' wideout is considered a "sleeper" favorite pick at Indianapolis this year, and several NFL scouts have already praised his film for his physicality.,
WR De'Zhaun Stribling gets a formal interview with the Steelers
Even before appearing for his drills, Stribling got a formal interview with the Steelers on Friday, as Steelers beat reporter Nick Farabaugh reported.
"Stribling had a formal meeting with the Steelers at the NFL Combine. From Hawaii, friends with Roman Wilson and Nick Herbig. Said the meeting with McCarthy and staff was ‘incredibly detailed.’"
The 6'2", 210-pounder has every NFL scout hooked with his film and his big, fast, and strong frame. Stribling also has good YAC & really good hands. He doesn’t rely on his body to catch passes and can easily run a player over, too. The WR has shown that it takes more than 1 player to bring him down in Ole Miss's CFP run last season.
All this will simply make him the sleeper player that every team would want to have atleast one meeting with, if not a formal interview. Good thing Steelers were the first in-line.
The Hawaii native is yet to perform his speed-time drills at the NFL Combine. If he clocks a 4.50 today, the NFL will have a new 'Day 2' darling on its hands.
The two Ole Miss players who were scheduled to be before him, Zxavian Harris and De'Quan Wright, have both opted out of the drills.
