Ole Miss's De'Zhaun Stribling is flying way under the radar right now, and honestly, the league is going to realise it only when the 2026 NFL Draft is done. Until then, Stribling is dropping all the right hints to buy into his underrated hype.
De'Zhaun Stribling's words enough to win over any NFL team
His answer to what an NFL team gets when drafting him was something that would instantly perk up any head coach's ears.
"You get a very versatile receiver, someone who does everything at a high level, someone who’s very physical, and someone who wants to compete immediately. I go out there and compete, get on the field early, whether that’s special teams or as a receiver, just do whatever I can to help the whole organization win," Stribling told PFSN.
Skills can be taught and learned, and can be refined. Head coaches bank on the mindsets when drafting early-round players. Stribling's answer shows why he could be the WR1 any team needs with just a few years of training; his mind is already in the right place.
Although he's being written off as a mid-Day-3 pick at best by the top draft boards, Stribling has serious potential to go as a Round-2 prospect. And that's not coming from the hype. That's evident from the massive interest the WR has garnered from the NFL teams with Top 30 official visits.
“I think it’s more my whole philosophy with it: establishing dominance. I’m gonna go out there, and I’m gonna establish dominance on whoever I’m playing. It doesn’t matter who it is or the body type; I’m gonna go out there and hit them right in the mouth, set the whole tone for the whole game," Stribling added about his playing style, and giving more boost to his already sleeper draft stock.
“The other part of about that is just trying to win. I’m just trying to do my job to help us win."
"As a receiver, you get maybe seven targets a game. So out of 50 plays, what are you doing the rest of the 43 snaps? You have to go out there and block and make the most of it.”
That’s the type of competitive makeup that makes scouts drool, and that will be evident on Friday, when the Round 2 and 3 of the 2026 NFL Draft will be in motion.
