Ole Miss has become a school that attracts top talent, whether that is via recruiting or the transfer portal. That is certainly the case when it comes to wide receivers.

Schools such as LSU, Ohio State, and Alabama sit at the top of the conversation regarding WRU. However, Ole Miss is a school sitting just behind those three and arguably is not far from the conversation in recent years.

That will become more apparent if Seattle Seahawks receiver DK Metcalf is traded to Pittsburgh and is paid what has been reported.

Dianna Russini of the Athletic has reported that Metcalf has been traded to the Steelers. Seattle receiving Pittsburgh's second-round pick from the 2025 NFL Draft.

The former Rebel will sign a five-year deal with the AFC North team worth $150 million. It would mean two former Ole Miss receivers would be in the top five and be paid the highest if the reports are accurate. The other is Philadelphia and Super Bowl winner A.J. Brown.

Other fan bases can say otherwise, but it helps the argument to support the Rebels' being a top WR school. With Elijah Moore and Malik Heath having decent NFL careers to date, it's looking good for the program's current and future wide receivers.

Tre Harris has declared for the 2025 NFL Draft and is expected to be a 2nd round pick, just like Brown and Metcalf. Is he the next future star on Sundays?

They also have a 2025 recruiting class that looks like NFL talent. Headed by five-star in-state recruit Caleb Cunningham, top recruits are seeing that a pathway to the NFL goes through Ole Miss.

Oxford is fast becoming a factory that sends wide receivers to the NFL. Next season, Cayden Lee will be the next star. Players in the transfer portal are jumping at the chance to stop off for one season or two to progress into a star, just like Tre Harris.

As long as head coach Lane Kiffin is there, it's only going to get better for Ole Miss and pass catchers, and we haven't mentioned the tight ends that have come through.
