The Ole Miss Rebels are nearing their first SEC matchup of the season against the Kentucky Wildcats in Lexington. The Rebels are coming off of an easy game against Georgia State to kick off the season.

We know that the Lane Kiffin does not to divulge much about injuries, however, he did give a few nuggets of information during his weekly press conference. First, Kiffin stated that they hope for Luke Hasz to be available to play soon. He also confirmed that Jaylon Braxton did not play in the opener due to a medical issue.

Because of a new SEC rule that was put into place last season, Ole Miss has to publish several injury reports in the week leading up to an SEC game. With the first injury report of the season for the Rebels came out on Thursday.

Ole Miss Rebels Injury Report

OUT

  • Caleb Cunningham
  • Luke Hasz
  • Traylon Ray

DOUBTFUL

  • Terez Davis
  • Samari Reed

QUESTIONABLE

  • Jaylon Braxton
  • Dae’Quan Wright
  • Ricky Fletcher
  • Dante Core
  • Delano Townsend

A few things stand out here. First, it appears that Luke Hasz is not ready to go. If I had to guess, he will return next week to face his former team, Arkansas. Second, it seems that Traylon Ray has some sort of serious injury, it is still unclear to me what it is.

5-star freshman Caleb Cunningham dealt with injury during fall camp, but he did suit up in week 1. However, it appears that he aggravated it again or something else popped up that will cause him to miss this week.

The questionable category is interesting. We know that Braxton didn't play in week 1, but he did suit up in the final scrimmage for Ole Miss. I will lean towards him making his Rebel debut this weekend. Dae'quan Wright picked up a slight knock in week 1 and was held out for the rest of the game, he will play this weekend. Ricky Fletcher play significant snaps in week 1.

It's unclear what the injury is. Delano Townsend was in line to be the starting LG for this year. He suffered a lower body injury several weeks back in a scrimmage. There was concern that his injury was very significant, but those concerns seem to have dissipated. However, I think he will be held out one more week before returning in week 3.
