Ole Miss basketball faces Kentucky today, its third home game on the bounce, currently going 1-1 in the first two. After a win over Texas, they were beaten by No.1 ranked Auburn 92-82.
Despite the ten-point loss, Ole Miss was again competitive for most of the game, with an 8-3 run in the final minutes stretching the result. The Rebels have been competitive in every SEC loss, which isn't a badge of honor for head coach Chris Beard, but it's something to be proud of.
Kentucky is coming off an 89-79 loss to Arkansas, which was only the Razorbacks' second SEC win this season. The Wildcats have lost three of their last four games, being defeated by Vanderbilt and Alabama. However, their last win was against No. 8-ranked Tennessee.
The Wildcats share the scoring, with six players averaging double-digit points per game. Guard Otega Oweh leads the team, averaging 15.6 points per game. Amari Williams is also a double-digit scorer and leads the team in rebounds, averaging 9 per game.
IIt's another big chance for a big win over a ranked team, with Kentucky ranked No.14. Ole Miss is No.25 and is extremely close to making the NCAA Tournament if they can continue on the same projector.
