Ole Miss vs. Mississippi State: How to watch the Egg Bowl, odds, injuries, weather, and series history
Egg Bowl week is here, and both Ole Miss and Mississippi State needs to win for more than just bragging rights. The Rebels lost to Florida in Week 13, meaning a playoff spot is no longer in their hands, but they still have a slight chance of making it in. They will need favors from other teams, but they must convincingly take care of the Bulldogs first.
Mississippi State is 2-9 on the season with zero conference wins. First-year head coach Jeff Lebby has found it challenging, but they have been competitive in several SEC losses. Despite Vegas making them heavy favorites, Ole Miss can not expect them to walk into Oxford and lay down defeated.
In 2022, Lane Kiffin received his only loss in the Egg Bowl, and it had the same feel as this season. The Rebels were on a high then games before the Egg Bowl had them feeling sorry for themselves, and the Bulldogs took advantage. I don't expect that to happen again on Friday.
