Ole Miss is back in the Pavilion for the Thursday night game against Summit Conference team Oral Roberts, which they are heavily favored in. It's also Semi-Pro night, with the first 1,000 students getting a free Jackie Moon Afro Headband, the famous character played by actor Will Ferrell in the film.
The win over Colorado State took the non-conference winning streak to 17, currently the longest in the nation.
However, now is the time to take the foot off the pedal, with BYU the next game after tonight in the Rady Children's Invitational. Head coach Chris Beard is happy with the team's direction, but there are still areas he wants to improve on.
Against Colorado State, the team shot under 80% at the free throw line (73.1%), so the focus will have been on that heading into tonight's game. That said, Beard didn't have too many gripes with his team, with two late turnovers from careless plays, which was the only knock with the free throw success rate.
Jaylen Murray and Sean Pedulla continue to be the big game scorers and are playing excellent ball. Beard is happy with his 12-man rotation, knowing there is depth for a championship run. Freshman center John Bol is the only injury concern tonight, but Beard confirmed that they will be back soon.d.
