Ole Miss women get their basketball season underway against USC, the preseason ranked No.3 team. The Trojans were eliminated in the Elite Eight of the 2024 NCAA Tournament against UConn, hoping to go further this time. It will be a challenging game for the Lady Rebels, but it will also give head coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin a good at her team against a championship contender.

The Rebels also made the preseason AP Poll rankings, sitting at No.20, making it a ranked matchup. The game is also being played in Paris, France, looking to spread the game globally. USC guard JuJu Watkins and Ole Miss forward Madison Scott will be on the court, with a packed Adidas Arena expected for their Afllac Oui-Play Game.

The SEC conference is set to be even more challenging with the additions of Texas and Oklahoma. Playing USC in non-conference will prepare them for highly competitive games, with NC State and Boston College also to play before SEC play.

It will be the first meeting between the two teams and an exciting one for college basketball fans. The women's game has rapidly risen over the last several seasons thanks to stars such as Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark. They have left for the WNBA, and a wave of new stars, including Watkins and Scott, are set to take the stage this season.
