Ole Miss women's basketball wins a second-straight
Entering the halftime with a 19-point lead, the Rebels survived a dwindling lead throughout the second half to emerge as the winners in an 83-75 roller coaster in Birmingham.
Ole Miss shot 51.4% from the field in the first half to build a comfortable lead, while Vanderbilt shot just 35.7%.
The third quarter saw Vanderbilt outscoring Ole Miss by 10 points, but they eventually trailed at the 5:34 mark in the fourth quarter, just when an 8-for-13 from the Rebels from the field sealed the win.
The win marks the second-consecutive win for the Rebels after their 82-61 win over Missouri on Jan. 23.
Once again, Cotie McMahon finished as the star of the night with 27 points on 8-for-16 shooting from the field while going 11-for-12 at the free throw line.
With 18 points and 14 rebounds, Christeen Iwuala finished with her eighth double-double of the season.
As the uncertain weather conditions continue, the Rebels now move on to prepare to face Auburn in theire next rescheduled game on Jan. 2.
Originally supposed to play Vanderbilt on Jan. 29, the Rebels had to reschedule due to inclement weather.
They still have an impending game against Tennessee, that was postponed due to the brutal winter storm, that will be later rescheduled to fit into the Rebels schedule.
Until then, the Ole Miss fans will be rooting for Coach Yo's squad to keep the winning streak going.
