Pete Golding is about to close in on the No. 3 IOL in the country, and Mississippi's top player in 2027 cycle.

Elite 5-star interior offensive linemen Caden Moss revealed the final 5 schools he is down to, and Ole Miss was one of them. It now becomes a recruiting battle against heavyweights like LSU, Ohio State, Oregon, and Kentucky, the other four on Moss's list.

Moss headlined the prospects who visited the Manning Center this weekend, and Golding already scheduled him for another official visit on June 19.

Pete Golding's leverage over others for Caden Moss

Golding has an obvious in-state leverage over the others, which makes them a heavy favorite to suit up in the Red and Blue gear in 2027.

Frank Wilson is showing his recruiting magic, and Golding's recent hire in co-OC Cody Woodiel is paying off. Wilson had connections in the recruiting world that could turn any program green with envy, and Woodiel is a Mississippi native through and through with deep ties to the Magnolia State and South Florida, making him a key piece in Golding's home-state leverage.

Terrence Metcalf's College Football Hall of Fame offensive tackle status also adds up to the Rebels' advantage. In all, Golding has all the right tools to ensure Moss comes to Ole Miss.

With Trinidad Chambliss and Kewan Lacy gone in 2027, Golding will need blue-chip prospects like Moss to keep up with the College Football Playoff standard, and potentially a National Championship standard, if they can make it there this season.
