1,000 Career Wins Up for Ole Miss Baseball Head Coach Mike Bianco
Ole Miss Baseball head coach Mike Bianco reached a career milestone on April 20, reaching 1,000 career wins as a baseball head coach.
Going into the April 20 series finale against Georgia, Ole Miss were already 2-0 down. However, a 3-2 win for the Rebels helped head coach Mike Bianco reach a significant milestone. The victory made it 1,000 career wins as a head coach for Bianco, 900 at Ole Miss.
This milestone makes him the third-winningest coach in the SEC, behind Ron Polk and Tim Corbin. Bianco's 900th victory as Ole Miss head coach netted him a sweet $125,000 bonus.
Bianco was asked about reaching the milestone after the game on April 20.
""This is a team, program accolade. You don't do it without a fanbase that's passionate to win and continues to show up. Everybody gets a piece of this. We have a lot of fans who have sat in the stands and watched a lot of these.""
- Ole Miss head coach Mike Bianco
In 2022, Bianco delivered Ole Miss their first College World Series Championship in program history, beating Oklahoma with a two-game sweep.
Ole Miss Baseball Look to Bounce Back Against Alabama in SEC Play
After the 2-1 series loss to Georgia, the Rebels are gearing up for their next challenge. They will welcome North Alabama to Oxford on April 23, and then face off against Alabama at Swayze Field, with the series starting on April 25. The team is determined to bounce back and show their true potential.
