Since Jayden Daniels transferred from Arizona State to LSU, Ole Miss is 1-1 against the talented dual-threat quarterback. Ole Miss lost in the first meeting with Daniels in 2022, with him rushing for three touchdowns and passing for two in a 45-20 win in Baton Rouge.
The following season, Ole Miss got the better of the Tigers in Oxford despite Daniels throwing everything at the Rebels' defense. The California quarterback had 515 offensive yards and six touchdowns. However, he could not get past a stubborn defense on the final drive, going down 55-49 in a thriller.
Despite losing to Ole Miss and two other games, Jayden Daniels scooped the 2023 Heisman Trophy, beating Oregon Quarterback Bo Nix and Washington quarterback Michael Penix Jr. During his 2023 season with LSU, Daniels finished with 4,946 total yards and 50 touchdowns.
In his five seasons in college football, Daniels reached 12,749 passing yards, putting him in the top 30 all-time college quarterbacks in passing yards. He also had 3,307 total rushing yards and had a combined 123 passing and rushing touchdowns.
Daniels was drafted No.2 in the 2024 NFL Draft by the Washington Commanders after USC quarterback Caleb Williams. He will look to continue his impressive last two seasons with LSU as he heads into the 2024 NFL season with Washington.
