Auburn is coming off a shock home defeat to California, losing 21-14. Five turnovers were the major factor in the loss. It was a setback for head coach Freeze and the team, with all the positivity off the field taking a hit with the Week 2 result.

The loss has led to questions about whether the former Ole Miss head coach is the right person to take Aubrun forward. SEC Network's Paul Finebaum joined Greg McElroy on his show "Always College Football" to discuss Hugh Freeze.

Does Hugh Freeze want to be at Auburn?

Discussing the loss to California, Paul Finebaum said he wasn't sure if Hugh Freeze wanted to be there, suggesting his body language around him doesn't give off that opinion.

""I've been around Hugh Freeze wants or twice when down their (Auburn) in interviews. He doesn't really look like he wants to be there.""

Paul Finebaum on Hugh Freeze

Not wanting it to sound like a bold statement, Finebaum said there is something going on with him down in Auburn, asking Freeze to show some emotion.

It's only two games into the season, but fans have already called for Freeze to be replaced. Many were shocked to see him blame the players for the loss, saying just one bad call came from the coaches; the rest was execution.

Finebaum said Freeze is safe for now, but if he doesn't start performing, the people who gave him the job can quickly take it away. Auburn's loss to Cal could mean the program scrambles to make a bowl game.

If the Tigers win all their home games starting now, they will have seven wins. Road games against Georgia, Missouri, Kentucky, and Alabama don't give them much hope. Oklahoma and Texas A&M are not guaranteed wins at home, so it will be tough for Freeze.

We will see how year two under Hugh Freeze ends for Auburn, but another six-win season may not be enough for a third year with the Tigers for the former Rebels head coach.
