The regular season of college hoops is drawing to a close, with Selection Sunday less than a month away. NCAA media analyst Andy Katz has dropped his latest bracket prediction for March Madness.

We are closing in on March, which means the NCAA Basketball Tournament, also known as March Madness, is just around the corner.

NCAA and Big Ten media Network analyst Andy Katz dropped his latest bracket prediction today, with Ole Miss Basketball making it in the East Region. Katz had the Rebels ranked number 10, playing number 7 ranked Saint Mary's in his bracket.

In Andy Katz's full 68 rankings, he had Ole Miss as the number 40 seed, two spots behind rivals Mississippi State and two spots in front of another SEC team in Texas A&M.

Chris Beard's team have six games left to push to make the NCAA Tournament, with four wins potentially getting them in. They have a big game on Thursday evening against rivals Mississippi State, followed by two home games against ranked teams South Carolina and Alabama.

Saturday's win against Missouri was important for the Rebels, stopping a three-game losing streak. Ole Miss play the reverse fixture in two weeks, with the Tigers still without an SEC win as of today. If they can get a victory in that game, three wins from the other remaining five games on the schedule would be the benchmark.

Andy Katz has seen enough from Ole Miss this season to believe they will get what they need to make it to their first NCAA Basketball Tournament since 2019.

If the Rebels do manage to make the top 68 teams this season, it would be an incredible achievement for head coach Chris Beard and his team. When Beard was appointed head coach in early 2023, most expected a transition year before competing for a place in the NCAA Tournament.

Just like Lane Kiffin with the football program, Chris Beard is changing the narrative with the Ole Miss Basketball program.
