Ole Miss head coach Chris Beard has been the center of conversations surrounding the opening at Arkansas. It has been reported that Beard was one of the top two candidates, but after what he posted on social media, it seems like he is going to continue to call Oxford his home.

Beard took over the men's basketball program at Ole Miss for the 2023-2024 season replacing former head coach Kermit Davis. As seen in his post above, it seems like Beard has no intentions of leaving the Rebels and is ready for what is ahead.

In his first season with Ole Miss, Beard and the Rebels missed the NCAA Tournament, but he finished with a 20-12 overall record going 7-11 in what was a very competitive SEC basketball season. After losing in the first round of the SEC Tournament to Texas A&M, a team that did get a bid to March Madness, the Rebels decided to turn down an invitation to the NIT.

Beard came to Ole Miss after spending seven years in the Big 12 as the head coach at Texas Tech for seven years and then spending two years at Texas. He has experience in the NCAA Tournament going 10-4 with his best run being with Texas Tech in 2019, leading the Red Raiders to the Final Four.

Now it is time for Beard and his coaching staff to turn their efforts to next season going out and recruiting to improve in year two.
