Former Ole Miss quarterback tears into Auburn head coach Hugh Freeze

Plenty of SEC head coaches are either on the hot seat or teetering close to it. Hugh Freeze is in the warm category and is being questioned by media, fans, and former players.

It's not been a great start for Auburn head coach Hugh Freeze in his second season at the helm. After a 6-7 record in his first season, he has started the 2024 campaign 2-2, with two home losses to California and Arkansas. Fans may love his recruiting ability, but the results on the field have them asking questions.

Former Ole Miss quarterback Bo Wallace may not be an Auburn fan, but he had several thoughts on Hugh Freeze that aggravated the Tigers fanbase. We will see if it gets back to the head coach this week, but Wallace's words weren't the kindest.

Wallace questions his former head coach's post-game comments

Bo Wallace was the Ole Miss quarterback from 2012 to 2014 under former head coach Hugh Freeze, so he has firsthand experience working under him. Wallace took to his social media after what looked like hearing Freeze's post-game press conference after the Arkansas loss.

Wallace didn't take kindly to what he perceived as Freeze throwing his quarterbacks "under the bus" after another loss, something he is sick of seeing.

""We’re approaching the point that he’s thrown so many QBs under the bus , that maybe no one wants to play for him?? Why is it someone else’s fault every time there’s a loss ??""

Bo Wallace on his 'X' account

Wallace said that when Hugh Freeze guides his teams to a win, he watches his press conferences to count how many times the word "I" is used. The former Rebels quarterback went on, in a very long post, to suggest Freeze has never helped him as a player or beyond, really digging into his former head coach.

We will see if these comments are brought up in this week's press conference as Auburn welcomes Oklahoma to Jordan-Hare Stadium. Another loss for Hugh Freeze will result in plenty more questions, with another top job looking to be slipping away from him.
