Wide receiver Chris Marshall lasted four months with the Ole Miss program in 2023, being dismissed for violation of team rules. Marshall had previously been part of the 2022 recruiting class at Texas A&M.

According to the on3 Industry Rankings, Chris Marshall was ranked the No. 3 wide receiver and the No. 24 player in the nation as a High School recruit in 2022.

With the Aggies, he featured in three games during the 2022 season, recording 11 receptions and 108 receiving yards. Marshall transferred out due to a lack of playing time and enduring multiple suspensions at Texas A&M.

After being dismissed by Ole Miss, Chris Marshall went down the JUCO road, attending Kilgore Junior College in East Texas. After one season, Marshall entered the transfer portal and was ranked the No.1 overall JUCO player by 247Sports. Mountain West program Boise State took a chance on Marshall, and he looks to be repaying them.

During the Mountain West Media Days, Boise State head coach Spencer Danielson spoke about how Marshall handled things on and off the field since his commitment in January.

""It was a very clear plan for him through spring: how he needed to handle business, not only on the field but of it. He did it; he did a really good job.""

If Chris Marshall can stay on the right path, Boise State will have a top offensive player in 2024. Despite limited playing time over the last three seasons, Marshall has shown his abilities and how they can help an offense. Marshall will also have two years of eligibility remaining.
