It's crunch time for college basketball teams, with the post-season NCAA tournament looming. Ole Miss Basketball have a shot, with eight conference games left on the schedule.

The College Hoops 2023/24 season is closing in on March, meaning the final stretch of games in college basketball conferences. Ole Miss are teetering on the edge of being out of the 68 teams to make the post-season NCAA tournament. With eight games remaining, how many wins give the Rebels the best chance of making the tournament for the first time since 2019?

Ole Miss are sitting 8th in the Southeastern Conference, with a record of 18-5 and a 5-5 conference record. With eight games remaining, could five wins take the Rebels to Omaha? or maybe even make it inside the 60 teams selected?

No conference game is seen as a definite win, which has been on full display this season, with seeded teams taking more losses than usual. However, breaking down the remaining games for Ole Miss, where could the five wins come from?

Firstly, Ole Miss have Missouri to play twice. Without sounding too confident, the Tigers sit at 0-11in conference play, so let's call that two wins. Georgia on the road is a game that will be circled as a potential victory.

Aside from the Missouri home game, the Rebels have three others. South Carolina, Alabama and Texas A&M in that order. Ole Miss just fell short to the Gamecocks on the road. However, they are the in-form team in the SEC. Alabama are sitting with a 9-2 conference record alongside South Carolina, another tough game for Chris Beard's team. The final game of this season is the home game against the Aggies, a team they have beaten on the road this season.

If Ole Miss can take 2 wins from the other three home games, alongside the Georgia win and beating Missouri twice, they put themselves in with a rea chance of making the 68. The other two games not mentioned are road games against Kentucky, who are struggling for form and rivals Mississippi State, which is always a tough game.

ESPN analyst Joe Lunardi has Ole Miss situated as one of the teams in the last four byes spot. If the Rebels can reach five wins from the eight, then it would be a high possibility they would make the 68 teams selected for the NCAA Tournament. More than five, then they should be there.
