Michigan State transfer DeeDee Hagemann decommits from Ole Miss Women's basketball
It's been mostly sunshine and rainbows when it comes to Ole Miss basketball these past two months, especially in the transfer portal. However, the Ole Miss Women's basketball roster took a blow with a decommitment earlier today.
Michigan State transfer DeeDee Hagemann is now back in the transfer portal, her agent Thomas Jones told On3. The senior point guard committed to Ole Miss on April 13. However, she has now reopened her search for a new destination.
Hagemann has played three seasons with the Spartans, averaging 12.3 points per game, and led the team in assists with 5.2 per game during the 2023-24 season. She earned All-Big Ten Second Team honors last season, starting all 30 games.
It's a blow for head coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin, who was over the moon when Hagemann committed, posting on social media "This was meant to be!" Hagemann or her agent has yet to speak of the reasoning for decommitting for the Lady Rebels.
Her agent, Thomas Jones, did say that Hagemann had spoken to several schools from numerous Power 5 conferences, and visits will be scheduled for the next few weeks. The senior will have one year of eligibility renewal.
With three transfer portal commits from the transfer portal this off-season, we will see if Coach Yo looks to add another guard from the remaining players left in the portal.
