Since the departure of Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh, only one Wolverine player has entered the transfer portal. Safety Keon Sabb is attracting attention from Ole Miss and other college programs.

It's been a few weeks since Ole Miss was linked with a transfer portal player. However, head coach Lane Kiffin reacted to a top defensive player entering the portal a few days ago.

When Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh left to coach the Los Angeles Chargers in the NFL, it gave Wolverine players a 30-day window to enter the transfer portal. Only one player has decided to do just that, with Keon Sabb entering his name into the portal.

Sabb immediately became the number one player available in the transfer portal, rated a four-star player by On3. He was ranked the number ten safety from the 2022 recruiting class and 96 overall player.

The now sophomore defensive back saw an uptake in production in 2022, with 28 tackles, four pass breakups and two interceptions. In the National Championship game against Washington, Sabb had six tackles and two deflected passes.

Sabb was due to be one of the starters in the secondary for Michigan this season. However, this does not mean he won't be back with the program. Michigan are still without a defensive back coach, with an appointment due soon, it could convince Sabb to stay.

Reports have suggested Ole Miss and several other programs have contacted Keon Sabb in the last few days. If Sabb decides his future is 100% away from Michigan, the Rebels will be up there with other schools as favourites to land the talented safety.
