The field of 64 has been set after selection on Monday with a couple of surprises. The top 16 seeds will now host the regionals starting in May. 31 to June. 3. Two of those hosts were non-Power Five teams in UC Santa Barbara and East Carolina. The Southeastern Conference had an impressive five teams as top-16 seeds.
Four of those SEC teams look to be the top teams in the tournament. Tennessee, Arkansas, Texas A&M, and Kentucky all have legitimate chances of winning the 2024 College World Series. However, don't rule out defending champions LSU, who have hit a hot streak down the stretch after a sluggish start and middle of the season.
North Carolina and fellow ACC teams like Clemson and Florida State have chances outside the SEC. Could Oregon State send the Pac-12 out on a high? The Beavers were the last non-SEC team to win the College World Series back in 2019.
The regionals get underway on Friday, May. 31. Here is how the regional bracket looks.
