The Ole Miss Rebels are climbing the transfer portal rankings again. Not long ago, they received a commitment from Florida transfer Princely Umanmielen.

Rumours have been circling over the last 24 hours that Florida transfer Princely Umanmielen was heading to Oxford very soon. Those rumours were correct, with Umanmielen taking to his socials to confirm the news.

Umanmielen, a four-star 2020 recruit, was the number one edge defender in the transfer portal per On3. The Texas native recorded 11.5 tackles for loss and seven sacks for the Gators this season. His performances helped make him an ALL-SEC selection.

It's another massive transfer portal commitment for Lane Kiffin and Ole Miss. It's just as crucial for defensive coordinator Pete Golding, who gets another game-changing defensive player for his team.

It's the second player head coach Lane Kiffin has secured that was the best transfer at their position. Last week, Ole Miss grabbed a commitment from the number one linebacker in the portal, in Arkansas's Chris Paul Jr.

The Rebels were one of the most successful teams in rushing the passer in 2023, recording 34 sacks. Most of the defensive line are returning in 2024, with what looks like the exception of Cedric Johnson, who has accepted a Senior Bowl invite.

Princely Umanmielen will slot straight into the defensive line and be a game-changer for Pete Golding's defense.
