Ole Miss appears numerous times in 2024 ESPN College Football anthem
It may have been a few days later than previous years, but the ESPN College Football anthem is here, meaning the new season is close. Fans have been on social media this past week, asking where the famous ESPN anthem is. Yesterday, it dropped with a whole chunk of buzz.
Last season, it was Post Malone with his track "Something Real." In 2022, it was "The Emperor," performed by Yungblud—two tough acts to follow. Grammy-nominated Jelly Roll may have just told them to hold their selected beverage, as his song "Get By" has received positive reviews.
Of course, there were some mixed feelings, but fans said it could grow on them. Some pointed to Post Malone's 2023 anthem as the best of them all, which started back in 2014.
The ESPN College Football anthem has become a big part of the sport for fans, hyping them up for the week's games. A montage of college football action from the past season, combined with a song that sets the tone for excitement for the season and beyond, hits differently.
Ole Miss features way more than in 2023
In the 2023 montage, Ole Miss appeared once, but 2024 is much different. ESPN has noted that the Rebels are looking at another top-10-ranked finish and are being talked about more than most in the preseason.
The first appearance in the montage is from quarterback Jaxson Dart, who shows up around the same time somebody says, "We got a potential superstar on our hands." Other quarterbacks, such as Quinn Ewers, Carson Beck, Travis Hunter, and Jalen Milroe, all-flash on-screen during the comment.
Later in the video, Lane Kiffin is shown celebrating with Dart while also showing Dart lifting the Peach Bowl with his teammates. Ulysses Bentley was also featured near the end. The buzz around Ole Miss continues, as does the dislike from other SEC teams.
