Ole Miss baseball needed a pick-me-up after a disappointing 2024 season, which was made worse with a string of decommits. Coach Bianco has answered with some quality commitments, with three in the last two days..

Pearl River Community College pitcher JP Robertson, a sophomore from Madison, Mississippi, committed yesterday, first reported by Rivals' Chase Parham.

In the past season with the Wildcats, Robertson struck out 79 batters in 63 innings and finished with 14 runs scored, seven RBIs, three doubles, and a home run. He made Second Team All-MACCC as a pitcher.

Robertson was the second transfer of the day, following Kentucky catcher Austin Fawley to Oxford. After taking his visit on Tuesday, it was only a short time until Fawley decided that Ole Miss was his next home.

In two busy days, Ole Miss also added Lousiville outfielder Isaac Humphrey via the transfer portal. The senior hit .310 with a career-high .977 OPS, including ten home runs, 13 doubles, and two triples.

Ole Miss now has eight transfer portal commitments as Coach Bianco rounds out his roster for the 2025 season.

Ole Miss pair announces commitment to Tennessee

A pair of Ole Miss trasnfers announced their heading to reigning National Champions Tennessee yesterday. LHP Liam Doyle and third baseman Andrew Fischer announced they were heading to the Vols.

A former Coastal Carolina transfer, Doyle made nine starts and appeared in 14 games. He recorded 72 strikeouts in 45.1 innings, while opponents hit .240 off him. Fischer, also a 2023 transfer, led Ole Miss in hits, RBI, triples, and home runs during the 2024 season.

Both players were big casualties from Ole Miss's list of decommits this season. Doyle and Fischer did not play to the highest standard with the Rebels. However, it will be interesting to see how they fare in Tennessee.
