Ole Miss Basketball will look to keep their NCAA Tournament dreams firmly alive when they take on rivals Mississippi State in Starkville tonight.

Ole Miss Basketball got back to winning ways against Missouri on Saturday, thanks to a solid second-half performance. The win ended a three-game losing skid and kept their hopes of an NCAA Tournament spot alive.

Focus shifts to Mississippi State on Wednesday evening, with the Rebels looking to complete the double over their rivals, having won the reverse game 86-82 in Oxford a few weeks back.

The Bulldogs sit with the same 6-6 conference record as Ole Miss. However, Mississippi State has a tougher stretch of games to end the regular season, playing three ranked SEC teams and none from the bottom four of the standings.

Chris Jans's side will have highlighted this game as a must-win for their NCAA Tournament hopes, as well as beating their rivals.

Ole Miss will have a tough task on Thursday, with the Bulldogs only losing one of their six home conference games. That came against top SEC team Alabama. However, they have also beaten ranked opponents Tennessee and Auburn at home. The Rebels have the opposite of that record on the road, with their sole conference road win coming against Texas A&M.

Despite the loss of arguably their best player, DJ Jeffries, Mississippi State has strung together three wins, holding teams to under 67 points or less. Offensively, they have shared the point scoring around in those three games. However, freshman point guard Josh Hubbard has scored 49 points in the three-game winning stretch.

Ole Miss will have to put up their best performance of the season to grab a victory over their rivals tonight. The atmosphere will be electric inside the Humphrey Coliseum, which is something Chris Beard's side will have to deal with.
