Ole Miss Basketball had weekend wins from the men's and women's teams. How does that set both sides up for the SEC Tournament?

Ole Miss Men and Women's basketball teams had good wins this weekend. However, both are at different points in what they could achieve this season.

On Saturday, Ole Miss Men's Basketball recorded an 84-78 victory on the road against struggling Missouri. It ended a three-game losing streak for the Rebels while reaching 20 wins on the season. Guard Matthew Murrell lead the scoring with 21 points, with Jaemyn Brakefield just behind with 19 points.

The win increases the chances of a higher seeding for the SEC Tournament, with Georgia and Texas A&M still to play. If the Rebels can pull off those two victories and have an unlikely run in the SEC Tournament, maybe a surprise NCAA Tournament place is possible.

The Lady Rebels made it six wins from six to end the season, demolishing Arkansas 87-43 on Senior Day. Forward Snudda Collins led the scoring with 18 points, while Madison Scott had a double-double game with 14 points and 13 rebounds.

The win for Coach Yo's team made it a 12-4 conference season, finishing third in the SEC. Ole Miss will now have a first-round bye, playing the winner of Auburn-Arkansas in the quarter-final on Friday, March 8.

Ole Miss Women are playing some of the best basketball of the season, perfectly timed for the upcoming SEC Tournament. Even with a worst-case quarter-final loss, they will still be in the NCAA Tournament this March, the third time in three seasons for head coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin.
