Ole Miss had one of its 2024 recruits, defensive lineman William Echoles, make On3's True Freshman All-American team. Every season, On3 releases 12 of its most exciting players on each side of the ball, with Echoles making the defensive side.

The Mississippi native was a four-star recruit and the No.2 ranked player in-state. All four of the top recruiting sites rated him a four-star prospect.

Echoles was joined by players such as edge Dylan Stewart (South Carolina), defensive back Zabien Brown (Alabama), and two-way athlete Terry Bussey II (Texas A&M). There were six players from the SEC on the defensive side of the ball and four on the offensive side.

Ole Miss landed a top-20 recruiting class in 2024, ranked No.20, with 23 players, ten of them four-star prospects. Echoles was the second-highest Ole Miss high school commit in 2024, ranked behind another Mississippi native, Kam Franklin.

On the 2023 True Freshman All-American team, the Rebels had wide receiver Ayden Williams make the team, alongside wide receivers Zachariah Branch (USC) and Eugene Wilson III (Florida).

Echoles could push his way into seeing game time this season, with head coach Lane Kiffin fearless about playing freshmen if they are good enough. Last season, Rebels linebacker Suntarine Perkins saw plenty of snaps as a true freshman, making the On3 midseason All-American team.

Ole Miss has several players who could work their way onto the midseason team. Kam Franklin, Travaris Banks, and Jefferey Rush all have the talent to push into the rotation. With the season just over a week away, we will see if anyone manages to do just that.
