The rumours are already circling on who could be the next running back through the door in Oxford. Could we see an Alabama RB on his way to the Ole Miss backfield?

It was a shock today when news broke of running back Quinshon Judkins's decision to enter the transfer portal. However, head coach Lane Kiffin knows how to replace holes on the roster effectively.

One player's name that has been mentioned a few times on social media is Alabama running back Jase McClellan. The 2020 recruit is coming off his most productive season with the Crimson Tide, rushing for 890 yards and eight touchdowns.

The 5-foot-11, 200-pound running back still has not decided on his future, with the NFL Draft also an option. McClellan did open the scoring in the defeat to Michigan on New Year's Day.

Jase McClellan had to share the backfield with various other players over the last few seasons in Tuscaloosa. If he did decide to hit the transfer portal, the lure of dominating the backfield at Ole Miss could be a key reason to stay in college. It could boost his draft stock significantly.

We are still a long way off from this being an option. However, if the stars align and Jase McClellan does become available, it would be a huge pick-up for Lane Kiffin. Losing Quinshon Judkins wasn't ideal, but another high-end RB from a top-tier program would settle the Rebel fan base.
