Day four of the spring transfer portal is drawing to a close, and Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin has been rather busy.

Has the Running Back Issue for Ole Miss Been Solved?

Lane Kiffin grabbed his first commitment of the spring portal, potentially solving the running back depth issue. Former New Mexico RB Jacory Croskey-Merritt flipped his commitment from Arizona to join up with Ole Miss.

The addition of Croskey-Merritt has yet to show that Kiffin is done adding to his running back room. As of April 19, the Rebels have scheduled a visit with Indiana transfer RB Trent Howland. The visit will take place on April 22 unless it is cancelled.

Former Louisville running back Peny Boone has had contact with Ole Miss and 20 other schools. Boone is unlikely to commit to the Rebels. However, Kiffin is interested in the top-3 ranked transfer running back.

Ole Miss Looking to Add Players at the Edge Position

Ole Miss has been in contact with Arkansas State edge Keyron Crawford. Since entering the portal, he has had plenty of offers, with a planned visit to Auburn on the horizon. We will see if anything more develops this weekend.

With the news that Ole Miss edge Princely Umanmielen has an injury that could potentially rule him out for at least some of the season, Kiffin is looking for some help at the edge. Lousville's Tyler Baron, who was committed to Ole Miss in December, is a name that has been rumoured to be heading back to Oxford. Although nothing has been officially confirmed, it is something to keep an eye on.
