Ole Miss defensive lineman Joshua Harris entered his name into the transfer portal on April 12.

Rebels head coach Lane Kiffin had his first departure this spring, with DL Joshua Harris entering the transfer portal. Harris, who transferred from NC State, spent one season at Ole Miss, recording 13 tackles during the 2023 season.

Harris posted on social media on April 12 to thank the Ole Miss fans and staff for their support during his time in Oxford.

"First, I want to thank God for giving me the opportunity to play the game I love. I thank him for bringing me to Ole Miss to meet great coaches, teammates, trainers, staff, and overall community," wrote Harris. "I want to thank the Ole Miss Football program for helping me get to the point that I am at now, for believing in me, and pouring into my athletic abilities. I truly am grateful."

Harris will look to find a team with which he can get on the field more during his last year of eligibility.

Will Ole Miss Look To Add Another Defensive Lineman Via the Transfer Portal?

Lane Kiffin's defensive line has seen its first departure in the spring transfer portal. While Harris was primarily a depth player, his experience in the Pete Golding defense was valuable. The question now is, how will Kiffin address this gap in the defensive line?

It's possible with only JJ Pegues and Zxavian Harris having the size to play nose tackle. Freshman Jeffrey Rush could move inside. However, that feels like it's later, weighing 290 pounds as of April 12.

It seems likely that Kiffin will explore options when the portal opens on April 15. Adding at least a depth piece at nose tackle would be a good move for the Rebels.
