Ole Miss football and wide receiver Samari Reed delivered some extra celebrations for Rebel Nation on July 4. The four-star wide receiver committed to Ole Miss over West Virginia, Penn State, Clemson, and Kentucky.

Speaking to 247Sports Inside the Rebels, Reed mentioned the coaches as a big reason for his commitment and their ability to get him to the next level, especially wide receivers coach George McDonald.

""I just feel like coach McDonald and Lane Kiffin can take me to the top. All their best players go to the league and they are very successful right now. I feel as a South Florida kid that's just like the best fit.""

Samari Reed is rated a four-star wide receiver by 247Sports Composite Rankings. The same rankings had Reed ranked as the No. 59 wide receiver and the No. 55 player in Florida. Standing at 6-foot-2, 185 pounds, he enters his senior season at Monarch High School and has the size Kiffin and the team look for in their outside receivers.

Ole Miss legacy Jhase Thomas set to make commitment decision soon

The son of former Ole Miss defensive back Fred Thomas has penciled in his commitment date for July 13. Jhase Thomas is down to five potential landing spots, including Ole Miss, LSU, Texas Tech, Houston, and Colorado.

Ole Miss has looked to be the favored landing spot for the three-star cornerback, who is the No. 143 player from Louisiana per 247Sports. Could the offer from his home state school, LSU, be a game-changer in his decision?

Could the fact his father, Fred, who was an Ole Miss alumni be the key to his decision? We will find out in just over a week.
